South Sound Home Pros is operated by Oly Software, a Washington State business. We connect homeowners with local contractors. We collect only what is necessary to provide this service and do not sell your personal information.

2. Data We Collect

Homeowners (quote requesters)

  • Required: Name, email address, ZIP code, project description, service category
  • Optional: Phone number, city
  • Retained: 90 days after submission, then permanently deleted

Contractors (account holders)

  • Business name, address, phone — sourced from public WA state records
  • Email address used for account login and lead notifications
  • Subscription status managed via Stripe (we do not store card numbers)
  • Retained until you request removal or your account is deleted

All visitors

  • IP address and basic server logs — retained 90 days
  • Session cookie (required for login) — expires when you close your browser
  • We do not use third-party tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies

3. Lead Sharing — How Homeowner Data Is Shared

When you submit a quote request, your name, email, and phone (if provided) are shared with all Pro and Featured contractors in the matching service category. These contractors:

  • Are independent businesses, not employees of South Sound Home Pros
  • Will contact you directly via email or phone
  • May retain your contact information in their own systems
  • Are not bound by this Privacy Policy

By submitting a quote request you consent to this sharing. To stop receiving contacts from a specific contractor, reply to their email with "UNSUBSCRIBE" or contact us and we will request removal on your behalf.

4. Business Listing Data Sources

Contractor information is sourced from public Washington State records:

  • WA Secretary of State — business registrations
  • WA Department of Revenue — business licensing
  • WA Department of Labor & Industries — contractor licensing

We republish this public data to help homeowners find local contractors. We do not independently verify that licenses are current or active. Always verify directly with WA L&I before hiring.

5. Payment Processing & Third-Party Services

Payments: All subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. South Sound Home Pros never stores or has access to your credit card number. Stripe's privacy practices govern how your payment data is handled.

Transactional email: We use Resend, Inc. to deliver account confirmation emails, lead notifications, and password reset emails. Resend receives your email address for this purpose. Resend's privacy policy governs how they handle this data.

6. How We Use Your Data

  • To match homeowners with appropriate contractors
  • To send lead notifications to Pro/Featured contractors
  • To manage contractor accounts and subscriptions
  • To communicate service-related information (no marketing without consent)
  • To operate, improve, and secure the service

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

7. CAN-SPAM and Email Communications

All emails from South Sound Home Pros comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. Every email includes:

  • Our identity (Oly Software, Olympia WA)
  • Why you received it
  • How to opt out

Contractors can disable lead notification emails from their Dashboard. To opt out entirely, cancel your subscription.

8. Your Rights — Data Access and Deletion

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing [email protected] with your name and the email address associated with your account. We will:

  • Respond within 5 business days
  • Complete deletion within 30 days
  • Confirm deletion by email

Note: We cannot delete copies of your data that contractors may have retained in their own systems. Anonymized, non-identifying aggregate data may be retained for analytics.

9. Do Not Sell My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. Washington State residents may exercise rights under the Washington Consumer Protection Act by contacting us at [email protected].

10. Data Breach Notification

If we discover that personal information has been compromised, we will notify affected users without unreasonable delay, as required by Washington State law (RCW 19.255). We will describe what data was affected and provide guidance on protective steps.

11. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in while you browse. We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics cookies. By using this site you consent to this minimal cookie use.

12. Children

This service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted data, contact us immediately.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a site notice. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
